Gujarat Titans Announce IPL 2026 Squad: Shubman Gill Leads Strong Core As GT Retain Key Stars

Gujarat Titans (GT) have officially announced their squad for IPL 2026, entering the new season with a refreshed yet stable combination as they aim to regain the consistency that defined their early years in the tournament. With the retention window completed, the Titans have chosen to keep their primary pillars intact — captain Shubman Gill, reliable top-order batter Sai Sudharsan, and right-arm pacer **Mohammed Siraj». Along with these core players, the franchise has also retained marquee names including Rashid Khan, Rahul Tewatia, Shahrukh Khan, and Jos Buttler, all of whom continue to remain vital to the team’s long-term strategy.

Gill, who led the side with exceptional consistency in IPL 2025, scored 650 runs in 15 matches at an average of 50 and a blistering strike rate of 155.88. His form remains central to Gujarat Titans’ plans for 2026. Sai Sudharsan, who enjoyed a phenomenal 2025 with 759 runs at an average of 54.21 and a strike rate of 156.17, adds further solidity to the top order. Meanwhile, Rashid Khan’s match-winning spells across conditions make him indispensable as GT prepare for another competitive season.

As part of their restructuring, the Titans have released Gerald Coetzee, Karim Janat, Mahipal Lomror, Dasun Shanaka, and Kulwant Khejroliya. Announcing the changes, the franchise said in a statement:
“These moves reflect the team’s focus on maintaining balance and strengthening specific areas ahead of the 2026 campaign.”

GT also confirmed that Sherfane Rutherford has been traded to Mumbai Indians, marking one of the notable transfer moves leading into the season.
