Paramount Pictures has announced that the fourth installment of the Sonic the Hedgehog movie franchise will hit theaters on March 19, 2027, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The announcement follows the monumental success of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, which recently became the franchise’s highest-grossing film, earning over $422 million globally.
The franchise, based on Sega’s beloved video game series, has also surpassed the $1 billion mark in box office earnings, a major milestone.
Cast and Crew Updates
While specific plot details, writers, or the director for the fourth film are yet to be revealed, the series has been helmed by Jeff Fowler, who directed all three previous movies. The script for the third film was penned by Pat Casey, Josh Miller, and John Whittington.
