Actor Allu Arjun, known for his role in the upcoming film Pushpa 2: The Rule, is set to appear before a Hyderabad court today in connection with the tragic Sandhya Theatre stampede case.
The incident occurred on December 4, during the premiere of Pushpa 2 at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. A massive crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor, leading to chaos when Arjun waved to fans from the sunroof of his car. The stampede resulted in the tragic death of Revathi, a woman in the crowd, and left her child severely injured.
Following the incident, Allu Arjun was arrested and later released on bail after furnishing a ₹50,000 bond.
On December 24, Bhaskar, the father of the injured child, shared positive updates, saying, “The child responded after 20 days. He is responding today. Allu Arjun and the Telangana government are supporting us.“
To support the victim’s family, Allu Aravind, producer and father of Allu Arjun, announced a financial aid package of ₹2 crores. Addressing the media on December 25, Aravind stated, “After speaking to the doctors, we are very happy to know that the boy is recovering. The ventilator has been removed, and he is breathing on his own. The doctors are very positive about his recovery.“
Aravind elaborated on the financial support, stating, “To support the family and the boy for his future, ₹2 crores have been allocated. ₹1 crore was contributed by Allu Arjun, ₹50 lakhs by the producers, and ₹50 lakhs by the director.“
The tragedy has sparked widespread discussions about crowd management and safety protocols at public events. The actor’s court appearance today is a key development in the ongoing case.
