Hubballi Dharwad (Karnataka) [India], June 2: Union Minister Pralhad Joshi on Monday strongly responded to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s criticisms of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP-led government’s handling of Operation Sindoor. Joshi accused Congress of protecting Pakistan during their tenure and praised the current government’s decisive actions against terrorism in India.
Joshi stated, “We have done what we had to do. We have taken action against people who were trying to promote terrorism in India. We have taught them a lesson. The entire world knows what you did during your term. You used to weep before the UN and the US. Now India has hit back, and the world is appreciating our action.”
He further criticized Congress for coining the term ‘saffron terrorism’ and alleged that they had given Pakistan a clean chit in the past. “Let them understand their track record and then talk. The entire military was ready when the 26/11 attack happened in Mumbai, but these people did not dare to take action,” Joshi added.
The rebuttal came in response to Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge’s demand for a special session of Parliament to discuss Operation Sindoor, accusing the government of misleading the nation. Kharge questioned the government’s transparency following remarks made by the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) in an interview and called for an independent expert committee to conduct a comprehensive review of India’s defence preparedness, similar to the Kargil Review Committee.
Kharge had said, “The Modi government has misled the nation. The fog of war is now clearing,” and praised the courage of Indian Air Force pilots involved in the operation, emphasizing the need for a thorough strategic evaluation.
