MUMBAI: After over three months of intense competition, actor Gaurav Khanna was crowned the winner of Bigg Boss 19 in the grand finale hosted by Salman Khan on Sunday. Khanna defeated four other finalists, taking home the coveted trophy and a cash prize of ₹50 lakhs.
Gaurav, already a winner of Celebrity MasterChef, beat out Farrhana Bhatt (First Runner-up) and Pranit More (Second Runner-up), along with fellow finalists Tanya Mittal and Amaal Mallik. The victory was a triumph for his unique, quiet approach to the high-drama reality show.
Gaurav’s Winning Journey
Gaurav Khanna’s path to victory was notably different from the typical Bigg Boss strategy:
- Poised and Composed: He maintained a poised nature, rarely engaging in unnecessary fights or controversies throughout the season.
- Underestimated Start: His low profile led many to initially underestimate his chances.
- Thoughtful Gameplay: In the last month, his thoughtful gameplay, balanced personality, and dignified reactions began to win hearts, proving that one can be impactful without being loud.
Salman Khan’s High Praise
The victory comes with an added career bonus: high praise and a promise of future collaboration from host Salman Khan.
During the final Weekend Ka Vaar, Salman Khan lauded Gaurav’s demeanor: “His personality will be greatly appreciated. More than that, his family, friends and wife will have tremendous respect for him. He will be a delight to work with. I myself will be working with Gaurav very soon.”
Gaurav’s win firmly establishes the idea that sometimes, dignity and steady performance prevail over overt drama in the reality television format.
