Uttar Pradesh Urban Development Minister AK Sharma announced that Prayagraj would soon have its first super speciality hospital, with a planned investment of ₹100 crore by the Urban Development Department.
The announcement came after a state Cabinet meeting held at the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, presided over by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The meeting resulted in several key decisions aimed at advancing infrastructure, healthcare, and investment in Uttar Pradesh.
Major Cabinet Decisions
- Super Speciality Hospital in Prayagraj:
- ₹100 crore allocated for the facility’s construction.
- Municipal Bonds for Development:
- Municipal bonds will be issued for Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Agra, with ₹50 crore allocated for each.
- CM Yogi emphasized the success of similar bonds issued in Lucknow and Ghaziabad, calling it a key medium for branding municipal corporations and driving development.
- New Medical Colleges:
- Three medical colleges to be established in Hathras, Kasganj, and Baghpat.
- Industrial Training Institutes and Innovation Centres:
- 62 Industrial Training Institutes and 5 Centres of Innovation, Invention, and Training will be set up across the state to enhance skill development and entrepreneurship.
- Renewal of Aerospace and Defence Policy:
- The Uttar Pradesh Aerospace and Defence Employment Policy, which has completed five years, will be renewed with new incentives to attract greater investment in the sector.
CM Yogi’s Vision for Development
CM Yogi stressed the importance of municipal bonds and public investment for sustainable urban development, stating:
“Bonds will be issued in these three important municipal corporations. This is an important medium for branding the municipal corporation and for its development with a new vision.”
The meeting at Mahakumbh reflects the state government’s focus on enhancing healthcare, infrastructure, and industrial growth, driving Uttar Pradesh closer to becoming a major hub for investment and innovation.
