Donald Trump Celebrates Eve Of Inauguration As 47th US President At Candlelight Dinner

Washington DC [US]: On the eve of his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States, Donald Trump expressed heartfelt gratitude to his supporters during a candlelight dinner at the National Building Museum in Washington DC. Trump, who previously served as the 45th president from 2017 to 2021, emphasized the historic significance of this moment.

“Today we save our nation and begin to make America great again,” Trump said, addressing an audience of friends and supporters. “I’m thrilled to share this special moment with so many friends and supporters,” he added, as cited by Fox News.

Reflecting on the journey to his re-election, Trump acknowledged the challenges faced along the way. “Our journey has not been an easy one… A lot of people said that was an impossible journey, but here we are. And we stuck together through every challenge and obstacle, and we stood strong for our country and for our freedom,” he remarked.

Trump called the achievement a collective victory, stating, “This is not my victory. This is our victory. Everybody in this room.” He praised the coalition of supporters who had helped secure his re-election, highlighting the significant contributions of African Americans, Hispanic Americans, youth, women, and union members.

The President-elect described this moment as part of a larger political realignment, predicting its enduring impact on American politics. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime realignment that will endure and lead America for generations to come,” he said.

The evening underscored the optimism and unity Trump hopes to bring into his second term, with a focus on hard-working patriots and a coalition that reflects the diversity of the nation.

Donald Trump will officially take the oath of office on Monday (local time) at the US Capitol in Washington DC, marking the beginning of his second presidency.
