Tributes Paid To Atal Bihari Vajpayee On His 100th Birth Anniversary

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Wednesday paid heartfelt tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the occasion of his 100th birth anniversary.

“I pay tribute to Bharat Ratna former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth centenary year. Today is being celebrated as Good Governance Day. We all have pledged to realise Atal ji’s dream,” Keshav Prasad Maurya said while speaking to media.

He also commemorated the birth anniversary of Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, a key figure in India’s independence movement, adding, “Today is also the birth anniversary of Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya; we pay tribute to him and will work to carry forward his ideas and principles.”

Good Governance Day, celebrated annually in India on December 25, honors the birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, recognizing his contribution to governance and leadership.

Earlier in the day, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also paid tribute to Vajpayee in Lucknow. Addressing the public, he said, “Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s governance was appreciated all over the world… His good governance has brought the country to where it is today and he showed us how we can achieve good governance. The government of America has also said that if one wants to see good governance, they should come to India. Be it Atal’s government or Narendra Modi’s government, we have achieved good governance today.”

Further emphasizing the principles of effective administration, Singh stated, “Governance can only be considered good when it fulfils the body, mind, money, and soul.”

Atal Bihari Vajpayee, born on December 25, 1924, in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, was a visionary leader who served as the Prime Minister of India three times. His terms in office included May 16, 1996, to June 1, 1996, and March 19, 1998, to May 22, 2004. He also held the position of External Affairs Minister in Prime Minister Morarji Desai’s cabinet from 1977 to 1979. Vajpayee passed away on August 16, 2018, at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi.

The day continues to inspire citizens to follow the path of good governance and dedication that Vajpayee envisioned for the nation.
