Washington (US) : The drag community is mourning the loss of beloved performer and activist Jiggly Caliente, known offstage as Bianca Castro-Arabejo, who passed away on April 27, 2025, at the age of 44.
Jiggly, best known for competing on RuPaul’s Drag Race and most recently serving as a judge on Drag Race Philippines, was celebrated for her vibrant spirit, fierce wit, and unwavering authenticity. Her family shared the heartbreaking news in a statement posted on her Instagram account, praising her as “a luminous presence in the worlds of entertainment and advocacy.”
Just days before her passing, her family had announced that Jiggly had undergone a leg amputation due to a severe infection. They shared that she would be stepping away from public engagements, including Drag Race Philippines, to focus on her recovery. Sadly, her health declined further, leading to her untimely death.
The drag world, fans, and colleagues alike have poured out tributes to Jiggly’s life and impact. RuPaul’s Drag Race honored her legacy in a touching Instagram post: “We are devastated by the passing of Jiggly Caliente, a cherished member of the Drag Race family.
