Patna (Bihar), June 20: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on Friday took a strong swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of his scheduled visit to Saran, accusing him of misleading the people of Bihar with false promises over the years.
In a post on X, Tejashwi claimed that PM Modi has delivered over 200 rallies in Bihar that were filled with “lies,” and challenged the Prime Minister to revisit his past speeches. “He won’t be able to speak again out of embarrassment,” the RJD leader asserted.
Tejashwi raised questions about whether the Prime Minister would inaugurate or lay foundation stones for projects that have been pending since 2015. He further demanded answers for Bihar’s lagging performance in key areas such as poverty alleviation, employment, per capita income, investment, education, and industrial growth, despite over a decade of BJP rule at the Centre and two decades of NDA governance in the state.
The RJD leader also accused the NDA of failing to maintain law and order, claiming that 65,000 innocent lives have been lost during its 20-year rule in Bihar. He sarcastically asked if PM Modi would felicitate the so-called “National Daamad Aayog” and questioned whether he would comment on the “unconscious state” of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar as he once did for Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik.
Further intensifying his criticism, Tejashwi alleged that more than 20 scams involving ₹20 lakh crore have occurred under NDA rule and accused the state government of forcing government employees to bring crowds to PM Modi’s rallies at their own expense.
He also brought up national security concerns, asking why Operation Sindoor — a reported military response against terrorists — was halted due to a ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan allegedly influenced by former US President Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, PM Modi begins his two-day visit today, covering Bihar, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh. In Siwan, he is expected to lay the foundation stone and inaugurate several development projects, including sewage treatment plants and water infrastructure under the Namami Gange initiative, aimed at enhancing regional development and improving public utilities.
