Upendra Kushwaha Alleges Death Threats From Bishnoi Gang, Calls For Urgent Probe

Siwan (Bihar), June 20: Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) national president and Member of Parliament Upendra Kushwaha has claimed he received death threats from individuals allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

According to Kushwaha, he was threatened via phone calls and text messages late Thursday evening. The caller reportedly identified himself as a member of the Bishnoi gang, which has been associated with several high-profile criminal cases across India.

“Yesterday, I got 2–3 phone calls and a message threatening to kill me in 10 days. The caller claimed he was from the Bishnoi gang. I have informed the police, and they are investigating,” Kushwaha told.

The RLM leader said the threatening calls were received between 8:52 pm and 9:20 pm from two different mobile numbers. He immediately informed Patna’s Senior Superintendent of Police and demanded swift action against the perpetrators.

“This is a serious matter of security. Strict action must be taken, and the accused must be arrested at the earliest,” he added.

Separately, Kushwaha also commented on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Siwan. He expressed hope that the visit would lead to major regional development announcements and smooth seat-sharing arrangements among NDA allies.

“The people of Siwan are waiting for the PM’s arrival. Wherever the PM goes, he brings special gifts for the area,” he said.

Prime Minister Modi is set to begin a two-day tour across Bihar, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh starting June 20. In Siwan, he will launch and lay the foundation stone for multiple infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing regional development.

Among the key announcements is the inauguration of six Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) under the Namami Gange project, valued at over ₹1,800 crore. Additionally, the Prime Minister will initiate water supply and sanitation projects worth over ₹3,000 crore across various towns in Bihar, reinforcing efforts to provide clean and safe drinking water to the region.
