‘Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story’ Wins Best Documentary At The 2025 BAFTA Awards

London [UK], February 17: Fans of Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story have reason to celebrate as the documentary was awarded Best Documentary at the 78th British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA). The documentary, which takes an in-depth look at the life and legacy of the iconic actor, won praise for its heartfelt portrayal of Reeve’s journey from a rising actor to an international superstar, notably for his portrayal of Superman in the 1978 film and its sequels.

The film explores Reeve’s personal and professional challenges, including his life-changing horse-riding accident in 1995, which left him paralyzed from the neck down. However, Reeve’s story is one of incredible resilience. The documentary highlights his advocacy for disability rights and care, showcasing the heroism he displayed off-screen. It also features moving, exclusive interviews with Reeve’s three children, offering personal reflections on their father’s legacy.

Adding emotional depth to the documentary are interviews with Hollywood legends like Reeve’s close friend Robin Williams, who shares his own memories of Reeve’s character and spirit.

Produced by Passion Pictures and Misfits Entertainment and financed by New York-based Words + Pictures, Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story was a collaborative effort with DC Studios, HBO Documentary Films, CNN Films, and Words + Pictures.
