Singapore Issues Travel Advisory Amid Rising India-Pakistan Tensions Post-Pahalgam Attack

Singapore: In response to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has issued a travel advisory urging Singaporean citizens to defer all non-essential travel to India’s Jammu & Kashmir and Pakistan.

“In view of the volatile security situation between India and Pakistan, Singaporeans are advised to defer all non-essential travel to Jammu & Kashmir in India, and to Pakistan,” the MFA said in a public notice on Wednesday.

The advisory also emphasized the need for increased vigilance, especially in border regions, and advised Singaporeans currently in either country to:

  • Avoid large gatherings
  • Monitor local news regularly
  • Follow the instructions of local authorities
  • eRegister with MFA via https://eregister.mfa.gov.sg

This advisory comes just days after India launched Operation Sindoor, a targeted military response against terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and PoJK. Defence officials have reported continued ceasefire violations by Pakistan, intensifying concerns over regional stability.
