Siddaramaiah Slams ED Chargesheet Against Gandhis, Calls It Modi Govt’s ‘Politics Of Revenge’

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday launched a blistering attack on the central government, accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah of orchestrating a campaign of “revenge politics” through the Enforcement Directorate (ED). This comes after the ED filed a chargesheet against Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and others in the National Herald case.

Calling the action politically motivated, Siddaramaiah said it was a clear attempt to intimidate the opposition and suppress democratic voices.

“The ED’s chargesheet is not just about targeting two leaders—it is a warning to all opposition parties and democracy-loving citizens that dissent will not be tolerated,” Siddaramaiah posted on X.

🔴 Accusations of Political Vendetta

  • Siddaramaiah alleged that the ED is being used as a political tool to fabricate stories and harass Congress leaders when no evidence has emerged.
  • He claimed that the central government has weaponized investigative agencies to discredit the opposition.

“The Modi-Shah regime is systematically using ED to carry out vendetta politics. These false allegations of illegal fund transfers in the National Herald case are part of a larger conspiracy,” he added.

🟠 Nationwide Protest Call

The Karnataka CM warned that the Congress party will resist this with “truth and justice” and hinted at nationwide protests:

“Every Congress worker will take to the streets. Every citizen who believes in the Constitution must stand up against this authoritarianism.”

⚖️ Background on the Case

The Enforcement Directorate filed its prosecution complaint (chargesheet) in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Tuesday, naming Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Sam Pitroda, Suman Dubey, and others in connection with alleged money laundering in the National Herald case.

The Congress party has strongly denounced the action, terming it a politically driven attempt to damage the credibility of its top leadership.
