Shreya Ghoshal To Headline Women’s World Cup Opening Ceremony In Guwahati

On Thursday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said that famous Indian singer Shreya Ghoshal would sing at the opening ceremony of the Women’s World Cup in Guwahati. Her performance will come before the first game of the tournament, which will be between India and Sri Lanka on September 30.

Ghoshal, who also sang the tournament’s official song, “Bring it Home,” will sing live. The ICC said the performance will honor the “energy, spirit, and unity of women’s cricket on the global stage.”

The ICC has established record-low prices for an ICC global event in order to make it easier for more people to attend. During the first wave of sales, tickets for all round-robin league matches in India would cost only Rs 100 (about USD 1.14). This fan-friendly pricing plan is meant to keep stadiums full and spectators excited as the women’s game grows in popularity and stature throughout the world.

Google Pay will have an exclusive pre-sale for tickets as part of a partnership to get fans closer to the event. At first, only Google Pay users will be able to buy tickets for all league games. Fans can also sign up to be notified when the second wave of ticket sales starts on Tuesday, September 9.
