Banks To Close On September 5 For Id-E-Milad And Thiruvonam

On Friday, September 5, banks in some regions of India will be closed because of Id-E-Milad and other regional holidays like Thiruvonam in Kerala.

The Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) holiday schedule says that bank branches would be closed in states including Gujarat, Mizoram, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Telangana, Manipur, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, New Delhi, Jharkhand, and Andhra Pradesh.

Mumbai, on the other hand, has been given a special change. In a circular sent out on Thursday, the RBI said that the Eid-e-Milad bank holiday for the city of Mumbai and its suburbs has been moved to Monday, September 8, to make room for the public processions that will happen on that day.

Customers will still be able to use all of the bank’s digital services, even while physical branches are closed. As usual, there will be no problems with ATMs, UPI transactions, online banking, and other internet-based services.

Banks across the country are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, as well as all Sundays. This is in addition to public and regional holidays.

Before going to the bank in person, customers should check the official RBI holiday schedule or call their local branch to make sure they are open.
