Indore (Madhya Pradesh) [India], June 11: In a shocking development in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, the victim’s mother and brother have revealed that Sonam Raghuvanshi’s own family now believes she should face the harshest punishment — including the death penalty — for her alleged role in the crime.
After a recent meeting with Sonam’s brother Govind, Raja’s mother Uma Raghuvanshi told media:
“Govind told me that Sonam should be hanged. He is grieving for Raja, not Sonam. Govind is not at fault.”
She further added that when she asked Govind if he had confronted his sister, he responded that he met her for only three minutes amidst police and media presence and didn’t get a chance.
Raja’s brother Vipin Raghuvanshi backed this statement, saying:
“Govind was in touch with me. He told me he wanted to come to our home and admit that his sister made a terrible mistake. He believes Sonam deserves the death penalty.”
Govind Raghuvanshi: “I Am 100% Sure She Did It”
Govind himself spoke to the press, confirming his belief in his sister’s guilt:
“Based on the evidence found so far, I am 100 per cent sure she committed this murder. All accused are linked to Raj Kushwaha. We have severed all ties with Sonam. I apologise to Raja’s family.”
The Chilling Murder Mystery
Sonam Raghuvanshi, along with four others — Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan, Raj Singh Kushwaha, and Anand — has been accused of murdering her husband Raja Raghuvanshi. The couple had recently gotten married and were on their honeymoon in Meghalaya.
Tragically, Raja’s body was discovered on June 2 in a gorge near Sohra (Cherrapunji). Sonam was found days later near a dhaba on the Varanasi-Ghazipur road, raising suspicion and intensifying the investigation.
The couple, both from Indore, had gone missing during their trip to the northeastern state, which was initially believed to be a romantic getaway.
