Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan made his first-ever podcast appearance on his nephew Arhaan Khan’s show, Dumb Biryani, where he candidly discussed his career, discipline, and even his time in jail.
Salman Khan on Hard Work and Discipline
During the conversation, Salman reflected on the importance of hard work and perseverance, emphasizing that excuses like needing sleep only hinder success.
“‘I am tired.’ No, get up. No matter how tired you are. ‘I don’t get sleep’. Don’t sleep. Do something, you’ll automatically go to sleep. So I don’t understand these things… I sleep for an hour and a half or two hours, and then someday, once a month, I sleep for seven hours.”
He also mentioned how he maximizes his time, even catching brief moments of sleep between work commitments.
“Some days, I’ll get a five-minute break between shots, so I’ll sleep on the chair. In places where I cannot do anything, like when I was in jail, I slept. I couldn’t do anything about it… When it comes to your work or family, the effort that you have to keep on putting in… you just need to be there for friends and family and work.”
Salman’s Jail Time Reference
Salman briefly acknowledged his imprisonment, referring to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, in which he was convicted. Although he did not dwell much on the experience, his remarks hinted at how he used that time to reflect and adapt.
Upcoming Projects: ‘Sikandar’ and ‘Kick 2’
On the work front, Salman is set to star in A.R. Murugadoss’ upcoming film ‘Sikandar’, opposite Rashmika Mandanna. The film is slated for release on Eid 2025.
The production house officially announced Rashmika’s casting in May 2024, stating:
“Welcoming the fabulous @rashmika_mandanna to star opposite @beingsalmankhan in #Sikandar! Can’t wait for their on-screen magic to unfold on EID 2025!”
Apart from Sikandar, Salman is also gearing up for ‘Kick 2’, which is expected to go on floors later this year.
