Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh: Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust general secretary Champat Rai on Friday said that the Ram temple in Ayodhya is in its final stage of construction, with finishing touches currently being applied. He confirmed that the main structure of the temple will be completed by October 2025, a key milestone in the historic project.
Rai added that once the finishing work is done, all heavy machinery will be removed from the site to ensure an unobstructed experience for devotees visiting the temple.
🚧 Work Beyond October
While the main sanctum and public viewing areas will be ready soon, Rai noted that several support facilities remain under construction, including:
- Boundary wall (yet to be started)
- Auditorium
- Restrooms
- Trust office within the complex
These auxiliary structures are expected to take another year to complete.
🕉️ Historical Background
The Ram temple construction began following the 2019 Supreme Court verdict in the landmark Ram Janmabhoomi–Babri Masjid title dispute. The court granted the disputed land to Hindu litigants, accepting the claim that the Babri Masjid was built at the birthplace of Lord Ram.
The consecration ceremony for the temple’s sanctum was held on January 22, 2024, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and thousands of devotees.
As finishing work progresses, the Trust has assured that devotee access for ‘darshan’ will not be interrupted, while long-term efforts to enhance security and visitor infrastructure will continue.
