Punjab Kings Captain Shreyas Iyer Joins 300 Fours Club In IPL

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India]: Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain Shreyas Iyer etched his name in the Indian Premier League (IPL) record books by becoming the latest entrant to the 300-fours club, during an intense clash against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur in the 18th edition of the IPL.

Iyer, displaying his trademark composure and technique, hit five crisp boundaries en route to his 30 off 25 balls, helping to stabilize the Punjab innings after an early collapse at 34/3. This innings took his total tally of IPL fours to 303 in 128 matches.

The right-handed batter eventually fell to Yashasvi Jaiswal, who took a clean catch at long-off, but his effort laid the groundwork for a dynamic middle-order counterattack.

In the 13th over, the duo took 17 runs off Akash Madhwal, with Shashank and Wadhera each hitting boundaries. Wadhera reached his fourth IPL fifty in just 25 balls, with 5 fours and 3 sixes.

🔹 Shashank and Omarzai Power Final Surge

Shashank Singh continued his explosive form in the death overs, taking 18 runs off Fazalhaq Farooqi’s over alongside Azmatullah Omarzai. The next over saw Omarzai unleash his own firepower, smashing Maphaka for two boundaries and a six.

PBKS crossed the 200-run mark in the 19th over, and finished at 219/5, with:

  • 🏏 Shashank Singh unbeaten on 59 off 30 balls (5 fours, 3 sixes)
