Shiv Sena-UBT MP Priyanka Chaturvedi Backs Arvind Kejriwal, Criticizes BJP & Election Commission

New Delhi [India]: Shiv Sena-UBT MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has strongly backed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, particularly in addressing the Yamuna water crisis and Delhi’s air quality concerns.

Speaking to media, Chaturvedi expressed confidence in Kejriwal’s leadership, stating:
“We are hoping that in the coming times, whatever promises and commitments have been made over the years to the people of Delhi, if anyone is capable of fulfilling these promises, it is clearly Arvind Kejriwal.”

Support for Kejriwal on Environmental Issues

Chaturvedi emphasized Kejriwal’s commitment to improving Delhi’s environment, saying:
“As far as the cleaning of the Yamuna River and air quality is concerned, I am very certain that Mr. Kejriwal will be able to address these issues.”

Her remarks underscore a belief in Kejriwal’s capability to resolve critical environmental problems affecting Delhi residents.

Criticism of BJP’s Track Record

She also took a sharp dig at the BJP-led central government, accusing it of failing to deliver on promises:
“BJP, on the other hand, consistently makes commitments to the people, but once in power, they forget about their commitments.”

Concerns Over Election Commission’s Fairness

Raising concerns about the integrity of elections, Chaturvedi accused the Election Commission of bias, particularly in how it handles violations by the ruling party.

She stated:
“The faith of people in the Election Commission to conduct a free, fair, and transparent election is now under scrutiny.”

Chaturvedi alleged election irregularities in states such as Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and Delhi, suggesting that:
“BJP gets away with distributing cash incentives to women and multiple poll violations, while the axe always falls on Mr. Kejriwal and the opposition.”

Call for Election Commission Reforms

Urging greater transparency, Chaturvedi called on the Election Commission to restore public trust, saying:
“I hope the Election Commission re-evaluates its functioning and addresses concerns regarding how elections are conducted and how those in positions of authority operate.”

Her remarks highlight the ongoing political tensions over election integrity and the governance challenges in Delhi.
