Owaisi Joins All-Party Delegation To Europe, Vows To Highlight Pakistan’s Role In Cross-Border Terrorism

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India]: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday described his upcoming participation in an all-party delegation to key European nations as an “important task” and pledged to represent India’s stance on cross-border terrorism and Operation Sindoor with utmost dedication.

Speaking to ANI, Owaisi emphasized that the mission transcends political affiliations and focuses solely on India’s fight against terrorism:

“…This is not about any party affiliation… We will have a more detailed meeting before leaving… This is an important task. I will try my best to fulfil this responsibility well.”

The delegation, which is part of India’s global diplomatic outreach following Operation Sindoor, will visit countries including the UK, France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, and Denmark. Owaisi said his group will be led by BJP leader Baijayant Jay Panda, and include members like Nishikant Dubey, Phangnon Konyak, Rekha Sharma, Satnam Singh Sandhu, and Ghulam Nabi Azad.

“We are representing the government of India and our country… We are going to those countries to tell how our daughters are getting widowed, our children are being orphaned, and how Pakistan wants to destabilise our country. We are the fifth-largest economy. If there is destabilisation in India, it will affect the whole world… Never forget that 21 civilians have also been killed (in cross-border shelling). Four children were killed in Poonch. Five of our jawans were killed. We will present all this to the countries… We will present the Indian government’s vision to the best of our capability,” Owaisi asserted.

The seven-member delegation, which includes Members of Parliament from across party lines, is expected to engage with foreign governments, media, academia, and opinion makers in several key partner countries. The initiative comes in the backdrop of growing global misinformation campaigns about Jammu and Kashmir, often attributed to Pakistani propaganda.

BJP MP Baijayant Panda earlier underlined the purpose of the mission:

“Pakistan’s Army has been taught a lesson through Operation Sindoor and they have been made to pay a heavy price for the terrorist attacks on India. There is a need also to take our views across the world because of the propaganda that Pakistan indulges in and misrepresents the situation in Jammu and Kashmir.”

The delegations will be led by the following MPs:

  • Shashi Tharoor (Congress)
  • Ravi Shankar Prasad (BJP)
  • Sanjay Kumar Jha (JDU)
  • Baijayant Panda (BJP)
  • Kanimozhi Karunanidhi (DMK)
  • Supriya Sule (NCP-SP)
  • Shrikant Eknath Shinde (Shiv Sena)

India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 people dead. In retaliatory precision strikes on May 7, India reportedly eliminated over 100 terrorists in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK).

The outreach aims to project India’s unified stance on terrorism and reinforce the country’s zero-tolerance policy on global platforms.
