Jaipur (Rajasthan), February 23: Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya addressed a press conference at the BJP headquarters in Jaipur, sharing his views on the Union Budget for 2025-26. He stated that previous budgets served primarily as a medium for announcements, whereas, since 2014, they have transformed into actionable roadmaps for the nation’s development.
Mandaviya emphasized that former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi spoke of the 21st century but lacked a concrete action plan, leaving his vision unfulfilled. In contrast, he commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for creating a detailed roadmap for India’s development until 2047.
“Earlier, the budget was a platform for announcements, but since 2014, it has become a yearly development blueprint. We are committed to fulfilling our vision by 2047. Rajiv Gandhi had an idea about the 21st century, but without a plan, his dream was unrealized. PM Modi has laid out a clear plan for building a developed India by 2047, and this budget reflects that,” Mandaviya said.
He further praised PM Modi’s vision to eliminate colonial-era symbols and focus on India’s heritage, stressing a united effort among the nation’s 140 crore people. He also highlighted that the current budget does not include tax hikes and emphasized the increase in per capita income.
“PM Modi has made several key pledges, including removing colonial symbols and advancing from our heritage. The people of India will march forward together. This is not just a budget announcement. We are preparing a development roadmap for the nation,” Mandaviya added.
Mandaviya also mentioned that the government has not increased taxes in any sector, including per capita income growth. He cited India’s accelerated infrastructure development, specifically highway construction, which now surpasses even the pace of the United States. Under the Gati Shakti initiative, India is making significant strides in connectivity.
He also highlighted the government’s commitment to welfare programs, mentioning that 60 lakh individuals are now covered under the Ayushman Yojana, including people aged 70 and above. “India has risen from being one of the five lowest economies to being among the five fastest-growing economies in just a decade,” Mandaviya concluded.
