South Korean boy band BTS member Kim Taehyung, also known as V, took to Instagram on Sunday to share a series of candid photos from his ongoing military training. The K-pop idol posted a countdown to mark his discharge from military service, offering fans a glimpse into his life during the training period.
In the images, V can be seen holding a bouquet and showcasing his well-defined muscles after a workout. One of the pictures features V in a military and police uniform, flexing his new haircut. The idol also shared a few adorable snaps, including one where he donned a bunny hat and posed with a snowman, capturing a light-hearted moment from his time in training.
Accompanying the photos, V wrote, “I came to report Sergeant Kim’s survival! It’s D-107. The scary winter is over, and I’ll take care of yourself in the warm spring and get ready for it!”
BTS, one of the biggest names in the global K-pop industry, is currently on hiatus as its members RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook are fulfilling their military service obligations. These four followed in the footsteps of Jin, another member, who began his service in December 2022.
Big Hit Music, the agency behind BTS, announced the enlistment of RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook through social media, asking fans for their continued love and support during the members’ time in the military. The company assured fans that they would be providing full support for the members as they complete their mandatory service.
In South Korea, all able-bodied men are required to serve in the military for 18 to 21 months.
