“Mamata Banerjee Is a Fake Hindu”: Suvendu Adhikari Blasts West Bengal CM

BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari accuses Mamata Banerjee of being anti-Hindu and blames her for Hindu migration from Murshidabad.

Murshidabad (West Bengal), April 27:
Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly and senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, calling her a “fake Hindu” and accusing her of driving Hindu families to migrate from Murshidabad.

Adhikari criticized the TMC government over the construction of a new Jagannath temple in Digha, asserting that the project was a political gimmick.
“…Mamata Banerjee is a fake Hindu. Do not mislead Hindu people. The Hindus make Hindu temples. Mamata Banerjee is anti-Hindu. Because of her, Hindu people of Murshidabad are migrating from here,” Adhikari alleged.

His comments come amid rising political tensions in West Bengal, especially after incidents of violence in Murshidabad. Earlier on April 20, Adhikari demanded a National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe into the violence, blaming the state police for “brutal killings” and alleging that Hindus are under threat in the state.

“We are constantly working to keep our culture and religion alive. Hindus are under threat in West Bengal… We want the NIA to take over. The state police is fully responsible for this kind of brutal killing,” he said.

Adhikari also criticized Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav for blaming the BJP for the unrest, dismissing Yadav’s statement as “politically motivated.”

The political atmosphere in West Bengal continues to heat up as the BJP intensifies its campaign against the Mamata Banerjee-led government on issues of law, order, and alleged communal bias.
