- Operation Sindoor Status:
“Operation Sindoor is only paused, not completed. Its full, decisive force is yet to be unleashed,” said Major General Seshadri, emphasizing that India’s response can escalate if Pakistan attempts further misadventures. - Warning to Pakistan:
India’s military achieved a “decisive victory” in Operation Sindoor, which should deter Pakistan from any further hostile actions. The Indian Army is aware of Pakistan’s weaknesses and pressure points, and any new aggression will meet with an “annihilating” response ensuring “complete destruction of Pakistan if needed.” - Air Defence Role:
Indian Army’s air defence systems, including the AKASH missile system and L-70 Air Defence Guns, successfully protected critical targets such as the Golden Temple in Amritsar and cities in Punjab from Pakistani missile and drone attacks. - Indigenisation and Modernisation:
Major General Seshadri highlighted the importance of indigenisation of weapons to achieve self-reliance, aligning with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s declaration of 2025 as the “year of reforms” and the Chief of Army Staff’s vision of this decade as the “enduring decade of transformation.” - Multi-layered Air Defence Capability:
The armed forces operate a comprehensive, multi-tiered air defence system with day/night surveillance, tracking radars, and integrated missile and gun weapons. The indigenously developed AKASH system provides a unified air picture for rapid decision-making and effective threat neutralisation. - Global Prowess:
India’s air defence demonstrated world-class capabilities by intercepting drones, missiles, micro UAVs, and loitering munitions during recent border tensions, establishing India as a globally actionable defence force.
