New York [US] : Queen of pop and fashion provocateur Madonna made a striking comeback to the Met Gala after a seven-year hiatus, arriving at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in an unapologetically bold look. Dressed in a monochromatic power suit by Tom Ford, designed by Haider Ackermann, the 65-year-old icon reminded everyone why she remains a staple in fashion history.

More than the satin white suit itself—with its structured tailoring, boutonniere, bow tie, and lace gloves—it was the cigar in her hand that truly stole the show. As she posed for photos, Madonna confidently puffed on the cigar, exuding classic rebellion and sophistication in equal measure.
Her Met Gala ensemble resonated with the 2025 theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which explores the cultural evolution and impact of Black fashion, inspired by Monica L. Miller’s influential 2009 book “Slaves to Fashion.” The exhibit, curated by Andrew Bolton, also highlights the aesthetic of the “Black dandy” as a celebration of identity, refinement, and resistance—an ethos Madonna has long embodied in her own way.
From her iconic Jean Paul Gaultier cone bra during the Blond Ambition tour to the $20 million Harry Winston diamond gown at the 1991 Oscars with Michael Jackson, Madonna has consistently pushed the boundaries of fashion, and her 2025 Met Gala appearance proves she hasn’t lost her edge.
