Tourists Call Kashmir ‘Heaven On Earth’, Praise Safety And Hospitality During Dal Lake Visits

Despite the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam that left 26 people dead, tourists continue to return to Kashmir, drawn by its natural beauty and warm hospitality. Popularly known as “heaven on earth”, the region remains a major attraction for travelers from across India, reassured by enhanced security arrangements and the welcoming attitude of locals.

“People of Kashmir are cooperative and well-qualified. The situation is very good. I urge everyone not to cancel their trip,” said Faizan Ansari, a tourist currently visiting Kashmir.

Echoing similar sentiments, a tourist from Mumbai described Kashmir as “a home away from home,” praising both the peaceful atmosphere and the friendliness of the locals.

“This place is truly heaven on earth. Everyone should visit it. It’s very safe here,” the tourist told media.

Vikram Bhai Vyas, a tourist from Gujarat’s Vadodara, shared his emotional farewell:

“I don’t feel good leaving today. We had a great time here, no fear at all. The locals and hoteliers were very supportive.”

However, visuals from Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam, the site of the attack, paint a somber picture. Once bustling with tourists, the area now shows minimal civilian activity, with only patrolling security forces visible.

Meanwhile, in a related development, the Indian Army responded to unprovoked small-arms fire from Pakistani positions across the Line of Control (LoC) on the night of May 5–6. According to official statements, firing took place in areas opposite Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Rajouri, Mendhar, Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor.

“The Indian Army responded in a proportionate manner,” a defense spokesperson confirmed.

Security agencies are continuing their crackdown on suspects involved in the Pahalgam terror attack, as efforts intensify to restore complete normalcy and instill confidence among tourists.
