Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: After the phenomenal success of Stree 2, the makers have announced the release date of the third installment in the blockbuster horror-comedy franchise, Stree 3. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film is slated to release on August 13, 2027.
Maddock Supernatural Universe Expands
The announcement came alongside Maddock Films’ ambitious plans for their Maddock Supernatural Universe (MSU), a lineup of eight theatrical releases that promise laughter, thrills, and chills. The slate includes highly anticipated films like Shakti Shalini, Bhediya 2, and Chamunda.

Director Dinesh Vijan, the creative force behind Maddock’s Horror Comedy Universe, expressed his excitement, stating,

Stree 3: What to Expect
The franchise, which made horror-comedy a thriving genre in Bollywood, stars Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana. Fans are eagerly awaiting its continuation after Stree 2 became a box office sensation in 2024, outperforming competitors Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa.
Speaking about Stree 3, director Amar Kaushik mentioned that production would take about three years, significantly shorter than the six-year gap between the first two films. He hinted that Akshay Kumar, who made a cameo in Stree 2, might return depending on the script’s demands.
Kaushik shared his gratitude, saying,
“I am thankful for the audience who embraced the film. The success is a testament to the hard work of our stars, producers, and technicians.”
