PM Modi To Participate In YUGM Conclave To Boost India’s Innovation Ecosystem

New Delhi [India]: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the YUGM Conclave at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital on Tuesday.

YUGM (meaning “confluence” in Sanskrit) is a first-of-its-kind strategic conclave, bringing together leaders from government, academia, industry, and the innovation ecosystem. The event will play a vital role in advancing India’s innovation journey through a collaborative project worth approximately ₹1,400 crore, jointly funded by the Wadhwani Foundation and various government institutions.

Aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision of a self-reliant and innovation-driven India, several key initiatives will be launched during the conclave, including:

  • Superhubs at IIT Kanpur (focused on AI and Intelligent Systems) and IIT Bombay (specializing in Biosciences, Biotechnology, Health, and Medicine).
  • Wadhwani Innovation Network (WIN) Centers at premier research institutions to drive research commercialization.
  • A partnership with the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) to jointly fund late-stage translation projects and foster research and innovation.

The event will also feature high-level roundtables and panel discussions with government officials, industry leaders, and academic experts. These discussions will focus on accelerating the translation of research into impactful innovations. Additionally, a Deep Tech Startup Showcase will highlight cutting-edge technological advancements from across India.

The YUGM Conclave is designed to:

  • Catalyze large-scale private investment in India’s innovation landscape.
  • Accelerate the research-to-commercialization pipeline in frontier technologies.
  • Strengthen academia-industry-government collaboration.
  • Advance national initiatives such as ANRF and AICTE Innovation.
  • Democratize access to innovation resources across institutions.
  • Align efforts toward achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
