Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) [India], February 24: Actress Katrina Kaif visited Prayagraj on Monday to take part in the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela, a significant religious gathering that attracts millions of devotees from across the world.
During her visit, Katrina met Swami Chidanand Saraswati, the president of Parmarth Niketan Ashram, and received his blessings. The actress shared her joy and gratitude for being part of the sacred event.
“I am very fortunate that I could come here this time. I am really happy and grateful. I met Swami Chidanand Saraswati and took his blessings. I am just starting my experience here. I like the energy, beauty, and significance of everything. I am looking forward to spending the whole day here,” Katrina said.
Katrina’s husband, actor Vicky Kaushal, had also visited the Maha Kumbh earlier on February 13, ahead of the release of his film Chhaava. The Triveni Sangam continues to draw not only devotees but also celebrities who take part in the spiritual and cultural activities.
Earlier in the day, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar also participated in the sacred ritual, taking a dip in the holy waters of the Triveni Sangam. Akshay expressed his appreciation for the well-managed arrangements at the venue, praising the efforts made by the authorities to ensure the comfort and safety of the devotees.
“I thank CM Yogi ji for making such good arrangements here… The facilities are excellent, and everything is so well-managed,” Akshay said. He also expressed his gratitude towards the officials and security personnel for their diligence in ensuring safety.
The Maha Kumbh Mela, which is nearing its conclusion, will have its final major bathing ritual on February 26, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri. According to reports from the Uttar Pradesh government’s Information Department, nearly 630 million people had visited the sacred site as of Sunday.
