New Delhi [India] : Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, IndiGo Airlines has cancelled all flights to and from Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Kishangarh, and Rajkot until midnight on May 10, 2025, the airline announced on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
IndiGo assured affected passengers that updates will be shared via official channels and that support is available for rescheduling travel plans.
Meanwhile, Mumbai International Airport remains operational, but has issued a passenger advisory due to tightened security protocols. Travellers are advised to arrive early and cooperate with security personnel, as wait times may be longer.
In light of the heightened alert, multiple airlines have issued nationwide advisories, asking passengers to report to the airport at least three hours before scheduled departure times.
Akasa Air posted the following update:
“Due to enhanced security measures at all airports across India, we request you to reach the airport at least 3 hours prior to departure. Carry valid government-approved ID, and note that only 1 handbag (up to 7kg) is allowed in addition to checked baggage. All passengers will undergo secondary security checks before boarding. Please consider checking in online via akasaair.com or our app for a smoother experience.”
SpiceJet issued a similar advisory:
“In light of enhanced security measures across all airports, passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours prior to departure to ensure a smooth check-in and boarding process.”
The disruption in civil aviation operations follows ceasefire violations by the Pakistan Army across the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in Uri, Kupwara, Tangdhar, and Karnah sectors, escalating cross-border hostilities.
