Gujarat Titans Continue To Champion Sustainability At World’s Largest Cricket Stadium During IPL 2025

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India]: Continuing their strong commitment to sustainability, the Gujarat Titans have once again set an example by effectively managing waste generated at the world’s largest cricket stadium, the Narendra Modi Stadium, during the ongoing IPL 2025 season.

Over the course of seven home matches, the Titans successfully collected and processed 93,385 kilograms of waste, reinforcing their holistic and sustainability-first approach, which has become a core part of their operations since 2023.

Sustainability Milestones Across Seasons

In 2024, the Titans managed an even higher figure — 1,04,777 kilograms of waste processed through recycling, composting, upcycling, reuse, or donation — reflecting their consistent evolution and scalability in waste management.

With the stadium’s capacity exceeding 100,000 spectators, the initiative plays a critical role in reducing environmental impact while ensuring that fans continue to enjoy a clean and seamless match-day experience.

Breakdown of Waste Processing in 2025

  • Total waste: 93,385 kg
    • Dry waste: 83,761 kg
    • Wet waste: 9,624 kg

The waste is managed through decentralised sorting, composting, and recycling systems. Additionally, excess food and usable materials are directed toward donation channels, further extending the campaign’s social impact.

Partners and Impact

The Gujarat Titans’ campaign is supported by NEPRA Resource Management Pvt. Ltd., who manage the entire waste lifecycle — from on-ground segregation and collection to transportation and processing. The partnership also ensures:

  • Hygiene standards across food vendors
  • Public sensitisation via posters, banners, and bin signage
  • Amplified outreach through social media and fan engagement

Leadership Perspective

Colonel Arvinder Singh, COO of Gujarat Titans, remarked:

“At Gujarat Titans, it is our endeavour to do our part to contribute towards a cleaner, greener future. With the help of our partners, we’re able to turn waste into resources from each of our home games at the Narendra Modi Stadium. We’re proud that our fans extend their consistent support to this initiative and continue to embrace and drive this mission forward.”

Social and Environmental Impact

The campaign not only advances circular economy principles, but also empowers local waste workers, many of whom are women — ensuring the initiative is both environmentally sustainable and socially equitable.

As the IPL 2025 season continues, Gujarat Titans remain committed to driving meaningful change both on and off the field, setting a benchmark for other franchises and sporting organizations globally.
