Bollywood actor Govinda has finally responded to the controversy surrounding his marriage with Sunita Ahuja after her recent remarks about his alleged multiple affairs sparked fresh speculation. Sunita had said in an interview that she would never forgive Govinda, triggering widespread debate about trouble in their marriage. The actor has now claimed that his wife is being “used” as part of a “big conspiracy.”
Govinda said that remaining silent often makes people appear weak or guilty. “Sometimes when we don’t speak, it seems like we are the problem. So today, I’m responding,” he said. The actor added that he had been warned that members of his family might be unknowingly drawn into a larger plan to malign him.
Govinda alleged that Sunita may not realise she is being manipulated. “She can never think that she herself has been unknowingly placed in a big conspiracy, with her being thrown into the field as the opening batsman,” he said, suggesting that powerful forces were working to damage his reputation.
The actor further claimed that fame often attracts people who try to pull others down. “When your popularity in the film industry goes beyond a certain point, many people come forward to destroy you,” Govinda said, recalling past instances where he was allegedly falsely accused. He added that those accusations were later exposed.
Expressing emotional distress, Govinda said he constantly prays for his family’s welfare. “I pray to God that there is no misunderstanding and that I don’t feel suffocated. I especially make a humble request to my own family,” he said.
Govinda and Sunita Ahuja, who married in 1987, share two children—Tina Ahuja and Yashvardan Ahuja. Despite repeated rumours of separation over the past year, the couple has publicly denied divorce reports, with Sunita earlier stating that no one could separate them.
