New Delhi: The arrest of self-styled godman Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati has exposed disturbing WhatsApp chats that allegedly reveal his exploitation of young women students.
One of the most shocking exchanges shows the 62-year-old trying to arrange a meeting with a so-called “Dubai Sheikh” for sexual favors. In the chat with an alleged student, Chaitanyananda wrote:
Delhi Baba: “One Dubai Sheikh wants to [have] a sex partner, do you have any nice friend?”
Victim: “Koi nahi hai” (There is no one).
Delhi Baba: “How it’s possible?”
Victim: “I don’t know.”
Delhi Baba: “Your any classmate? Junior?”
Other chats show him addressing victims in infantilizing terms such as “Sweetie Baby Daughter Doll” and sending obsessive messages throughout the day and late into the night:
“Babyyyyy” (7:49 PM)
“Baby where are you?” (11:59 PM)
“Good Morning Baby” (12:40 AM)
“Why are you angry with me?” (12:41 AM)
“Good Evening my most beloved baby daughter doll.”
In other exchanges, Chaitanyananda made inappropriate remarks, joked about “doing some disco dance” with a student, and even asked, “You’ll not sleep with me?”
The Arrest in Agra
Chaitanyananda, accused of harassing at least 17 female students, was arrested around 3:30 AM on Sunday from a hotel in Agra’s Taj Ganj area. Police said he had been evading authorities for nearly two months, frequently moving between Vrindavan, Mathura, and Agra, staying in small hotels, and using taxis to avoid capture.
He checked into the Agra hotel on September 27 under the alias “Partha Sarathi”, remaining in Room 101 until his arrest. He is now in five days of police custody and is expected to be confronted by three female aides allegedly involved in threatening students and deleting incriminating messages.
Police seized multiple devices, including an iPad and three mobile phones, one of which had remote access to the institute’s CCTV cameras. Investigators also recovered fake visiting cards claiming him as a “Permanent Ambassador” to the UN Economic and Social Council” and a “Special Envoy” for BRICS, as well as two passports under different names with conflicting personal details. Authorities have frozen assets worth Rs 8 crore and revealed he allegedly withdrew over Rs 50 lakh using fraudulent documents after the FIR was filed in August.
The allegations first emerged from female students at his private management institute in Delhi, who claimed he forced them to visit his quarters late at night and sent sexually explicit messages at odd hours.
