New Delhi [India]: In the wake of Operation Sindoor, a targeted counter-terror mission executed by the Indian Armed Forces against terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), the Union Government on Thursday convened an all-party meeting to brief political leaders on the operation’s scale and outcomes.
Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju highlighted the importance of the meeting, stating:
“Our country has taken a big action. It is the government’s responsibility to brief all political parties. The PM has directed us to ensure national unity at this moment. The entire country is with the armed forces.”
The meeting, held at the Parliament Library building, saw attendance from key national figures including:
- Union Ministers JP Nadda and Rajnath Singh
- Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge
- Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi
- Senior leaders from various parties across the political spectrum
Operation Sindoor:
Launched on Wednesday morning, Operation Sindoor was India’s response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives.
The operation involved precision strikes on terror camps linked to LeT, JeM, and Hizbul Mujahideen. Targets spanned both across deep Pakistani territory and PoJK, as confirmed by the Indian Armed Forces.
Rijiju reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for unity, saying:
“PM Modi’s intentions are known to the world. In such times, the nation must remain undivided and stand together with our soldiers.”
