Ganderbal (Jammu and Kashmir), February 23 : Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Central Kashmir, Rajiv Pandey, and DIG CRPF Operations North Range Srinagar, Sudhir Kumar, visited Ganderbal on Saturday to review the joint operational competence of the Special Operations Group (SOG) Ganderbal and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The review focused on enhancing operational synergy and evaluating the training and preparedness of the forces.
During the visit, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal, Ragav S, provided a detailed presentation on the district’s current security situation and the joint operations conducted by Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) and CRPF. DIG Pandey discussed the recent security developments in the region, emphasizing the importance of effective strategies to combat emerging challenges.
DIG Sudhir Kumar highlighted the need for improved operational awareness and cooperation between the two forces to efficiently tackle terrorism. A demonstration of weapons and advanced gadgets used by the joint teams followed the discussions.
In a related development, security forces successfully uncovered a militant hideout in the Simbli Shajroo area of Mahore, Reasi district, leading to the recovery of significant arms and ammunition, including AK-47 ammunition, UBGLs, and detonators. This marks a major setback to militant activities in the region.
The efforts of security forces in strengthening intelligence networks and countering terrorism were further emphasized during recent visits by high-ranking officials such as Lt Gen Navin Sachdeva and Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who have all underscored the importance of continued vigilance and inter-agency coordination in maintaining peace and security.
