Ranveer Singh’s latest spy thriller, ‘Dhurandhar,’ has delivered a much-needed blockbuster start for the actor, crossing the massive ₹58 crore net mark in just two days at the domestic box office. Fueled by strong audience reception and soaring word-of-mouth, the film is performing far better than initial trade predictions.
After opening with a robust ₹27 crore net on Friday, ‘Dhurandhar’ maintained its aggressive pace on Saturday. According to Sacnilk, the film registered a jump in collections on Day 2, earning an impressive ₹31 crore net.

The strong audience chatter translated directly to rising theatre occupancy:
- Morning Shows: Climbed from 15% to 18%.
- Afternoon Shows: Jumped from 28% to 35%.
This two-day total of ₹58 crore net puts the Aditya Dhar-directed movie on course for a colossal opening weekend, with estimates suggesting the film could easily cross ₹90 crore net by the end of Sunday.
Ranveer Singh’s Biggest Opener
‘Dhurandhar’ has not only provided a successful surge for the star but has also set a new personal record:
- It has become the best-ever opening day film for a Ranveer Singh-led project, comfortably surpassing the Day 1 collections of his previous hits like Simmba and Padmaavat.
- In a striking display of box office dominance, Dhurandhar eclipsed the entire lifetime collection of the actor’s 2022 film, Cirkus (₹35.80 crore net), in just two days.
The film, which is set in Pakistan and follows an Indian spy infiltrating the Lyari gangs, has been praised by critics for its intense narrative and strong performances by an ensemble cast that includes Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and R Madhavan.
News18 Showsha’s review awarded the film 4 stars, noting, “The film is marked with profanity, gore and violence, lots of it, but it only adds more character and even nuance to the narrative. Here, none of it is for cheap thrills.”
