New Delhi [India], June 9: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta held a ‘Jansunvai’ (public hearing) in Shalimar Bagh on Monday, engaging directly with citizens and addressing their concerns. During the event, she instructed officials to take immediate action to resolve the issues raised by residents.
Sharing moments from the interaction on social media platform X, CM Gupta wrote,
“Today, I had a direct conversation with the people of Delhi through Jansunvai. I listened to their views, assimilated their suggestions, and gave necessary instructions to the officers on the spot to solve the problems.”
Highlighting the importance of public feedback, she added,
“The trust of the people is our real strength. Their voice determines the direction of our policies. The Delhi government is vigilant, sensitive, and fully committed to every public issue.”
In a follow-up post, she reiterated the value of face-to-face communication in public service:
“Every complaint and suggestion is not just information, but a responsibility. Our resolve is clear — to meet people’s expectations and strengthen their trust.”
Later in the day, CM Gupta also took part in the environmental initiative ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0’, aimed at greening the national capital. She announced that the Delhi government has set an ambitious target to plant over 70 lakh trees in the current season.
Speaking to reporters, she said,
“I’m pleased that every Delhi department and school is joining the second edition of ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’. We’re urging every citizen and social organisation to plant at least one tree in honour of Mother Nature and Earth. Together, we aim to make Delhi greener and improve the environment.”
