This meeting comes after the Congress party conducted a major reshuffle of office-bearers in response to their poor performance in the recent assembly elections held in Maharashtra, Haryana, and Delhi. Key appointments include former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel as general secretary in charge of Punjab, and party MP Syed Naseer Hussain as general secretary in charge of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
Other key appointments include former General Secretary BK Hariprasad as in-charge of Haryana, Krishna Allavaru for Bihar, Rajani Patil for Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh, and Harish Chaudhary for Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, Congress leaders Ajay Kumar Lallu, K Raju, Meenakshi Natarajan, and Girish Chodankar were appointed in charge of Odisha, Jharkhand, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Congress party has relieved several individuals of their responsibilities, including Dipak Babaria, Mohan Prakash, Bharatsinh Solanki, Rajeev Shukla, Ajoy Kumar, and Devender Yadav.
This meeting comes at a time when the Congress party is trying to regroup and revitalize itself following its poor performance in recent elections, including failing to secure seats in Delhi’s recent assembly polls, where the BJP emerged victorious with 48 seats, and AAP performed below expectations, winning 22 seats.
