Congress Leaders Slam Pakistan’s “Cowardly” Attacks Amid Escalation, Highlight India’s Military Superiority

New Delhi [India]: Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, senior Congress leaders Sandeep Dikshit and Pawan Khera strongly condemned Pakistan’s recent actions, labeling them as cowardly and undignified in nature. Their remarks came in response to continued cross-border aggression and civilian attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, following India’s targeted counter-terror operation—Operation Sindoor.

Sandeep Dikshit criticized Pakistan for targeting civilians instead of engaging in direct conflict with India’s military. “We attacked their terror hotspots, and they attacked our civilians. If they want war, then they will get war,” Dikshit told. He added, “All the acts done by Pakistan and its army are cowardly. They do not have the courage to fight with dignity. Killing innocent civilians in Pahalgam—was that not cowardice? Name one dignified act by Pakistan in the last 40–50 years.”

He further stated that Pakistan was caught in a self-inflicted dilemma, saying, “The Pakistan army cannot grasp the beehive they have disturbed. On one side lies their destruction, and on the other, a battle for their fake self-respect. We have practised restraint before—but now, Pakistan is trapped.”

Echoing a similar sentiment, Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera underscored India’s technological and ethical superiority. “Pakistan must understand that India holds technical superiority and global credibility. Unlike Pakistan, we do not attack civilian establishments. Our action was limited to terrorist camps in response to the horrific Pahalgam attack,” Khera told.

He also called on the international community to take note of Pakistan’s continued targeting of civilian zones. “Despite our measured response, Pakistan has not ceased its misdeeds. Their targeting of civilian areas must be condemned globally,” he added.

These statements follow Operation Sindoor, during which the Indian Army neutralized nine terrorist camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The operation was launched in retaliation to the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

In related developments, the Border Security Force (BSF) thwarted a major infiltration attempt along the International Boundary in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district. Meanwhile, Indian defence sources confirmed that two Pakistani drones were shot down in the Naushera sector amid a heavy exchange of artillery fire between Indian and Pakistani forces.
