Chirag Paswan Promises “Bigger Holi” In Bihar After NDA’s Victory In 2025

Patna (Bihar) [India], March 12: Union Minister Chirag Paswan attended a ‘Holi Milan’ program in Patna on Wednesday, accompanied by his mother Reena Paswan and party workers, ahead of the main Holi celebrations on March 14.

During his address, Chirag Paswan declared that a grander Holi celebration will take place in Bihar following the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) victory in the upcoming State Assembly Elections. He stated, “This time, the colours of Holi are going to write a new history in Bihar. This is the beginning of the colours of joy. We will celebrate the real Holi in November when the NDA wins in a massive way, and a government in line with PM Modi’s vision will be formed in Bihar once again. An even bigger Holi will then be celebrated in Bihar.”

Chirag also responded to remarks made by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav, following a controversial statement by BJP MLA Haribhushan Thakur. He condemned the attempt by RJD to “spread religious imbalance” and reaffirmed that Hindu festivals, including Holi, are meant to be celebrated by all communities together. He emphasized, “We have shown Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb for decades. Holi is one such festival when everyone celebrates together, but RJD is trying to create a divide by appeasing certain sections.”

Tejashwi Yadav had earlier criticized Haribhushan Thakur’s appeal to Muslims to “stay indoors” on Holi, which this year coincides with a Friday during Ramadan. Yadav also took aim at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for not taking action against the BJP MLA over the controversial statement, describing him as being in an “unconscious state.”

The situation unfolded after Thakur’s controversial appeal sparked tensions, leading to strong reactions from opposition leaders in the state.
