New Delhi [India], May 13: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday announced the results for Class 10 examinations, with an overall pass percentage of 93.66%, a slight increase of 0.06% from last year.
Girls continued to outperform boys with a pass percentage of 95%, which is 2.37% higher than boys. According to a CBSE press release, 22,38,827 students appeared for the exam, and 20,95,467 passed.
Thiruvananthapuram topped the regional performance chart with a remarkable 99.70% pass rate, while Guwahati was at the bottom, recording a pass percentage of 84.14%.
The Class 10 board exams were held between February 15 and March 18, 2025, across 7,842 centres in India and 26 centres abroad, involving 26,675 schools. Exams were conducted from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, with strict protocols in place to ensure transparency and integrity.
CBSE mandated school uniforms for regular students and light-coloured attire for private candidates. All examinees were required to reach centres 30 minutes prior to the start time. Instructions were issued on prohibited items such as mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, cameras, unauthorized notes, and food (with exceptions for diabetic students).
Earlier, CBSE also declared the Class 12 results, with an 88.39% pass rate, up by 0.41% from last year. Girls once again outshined boys with a 91% pass percentage, leading by 5.94%.
Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) led the Class 12 regional chart with 99.60% pass rate, while Prayagraj had the lowest at around 80%.
Over 16 lakh students took the Class 12 exams, of whom more than 14 lakh cleared.
