Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 13: Veteran actor Anupam Kher has revealed the first look of his character Col. Pratap Raina from his upcoming directorial project ‘Tanvi The Great’, generating buzz ahead of its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival’s Marché du Film.
The character poster, shared on the official Anupam Kher Studio Instagram handle, features Kher in a reflective and intense avatar. The caption read:
“For four decades, GLOBAL and GLORIOUS Actor Anupam Kher has made us laugh, cry, cheer, and gave us countless unforgettable performances… Now, he embodies a character whose story he wrote himself!”
Describing his role, the post added:
“Col. Pratap Raina… who lets his silence speak louder than his words. But then someone enters his world… someone who has her own interpretation of silence. Sometimes it makes you laugh, sometimes you hold back tears — Col. Raina and Tanvi are two sides of the same coin.”
Previously, the makers also unveiled the character poster of Nasser as Brigadier Rao, highlighting the legendary actor’s prolific body of work.
Tanvi The Great boasts an ensemble cast including Karan Tacker (making his big-screen debut), Shubhangi Dutt (debutant), Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, and Iain Glen (best known for Game of Thrones).
The film features sound design by Oscar-winner Resul Pookutty (Slumdog Millionaire) and music by Academy Award-winning composer MM Keeravani (RRR). It is produced by Anupam Kher Studios in association with National Film Development Corporation (NFDC).
While the film’s release date is yet to be announced, the buzz surrounding its Cannes premiere suggests a highly anticipated festival debut.
