The 23-year-old singer was accompanied on stage by her brother and longtime collaborator, Finneas O’Connell. The performance, set against a backdrop of Los Angeles, paid tribute to their hometown, which had recently been impacted by wildfires.
Eilish’s outfit was as iconic as her performance, with the singer donning an oversized yellow jersey, baggy jeans, a long Mikimoto pearl necklace, and a blue LA Dodgers cap. Earlier, she had graced the red carpet in a black-and-white ensemble by Prada.
The night also saw other memorable moments, such as Sabrina Carpenter winning her first-ever Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album with Short n’ Sweet, and Chappell Roan taking home the Best New Artist award. Roan used her acceptance speech to highlight an important issue in the music industry, discussing how record labels treat artists.
In other historic wins, Beyoncé made waves by becoming the first Black woman in half a century to win a Grammy in the country music category.
