Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: A new period drama series, ‘Donali’, is currently in development and will feature Barun Sobti, Parul Gulati, and Divyendu Sharma in key roles.
Set in the 1960s, the series explores the intense and gritty world of dacoits from Chambal. Bollywood veterans Chunky Pandey and Sandhya Mridul will also be part of the cast.
Parul Gulati to Portray a Dacoit
Parul Gulati is expected to play a dacoit in the series. Speaking about her role, she said:
“Donali is a project close to E Niwas’ heart. My character is layered and fierce in the narrative. I am looking forward to showcasing a new side of me to the audience through this character.”
She also expressed her excitement about working with the talented cast:
“Sharing screen space with actors like Chunky sir, Barun, and Divyendu is an amazing experience. The story also has a strong emotional angle, which makes it even more special for me.”
The series is expected to premiere later this year.
Barun Sobti’s Upcoming Projects
Apart from ‘Donali’, Barun Sobti is gearing up for the release of ‘Kohrra 2’, alongside Mona Singh. The teaser for the second season was recently unveiled, showing Barun’s character, ASI Amarpal Jasjit Garundi, teaming up with his new boss, Dhanwant Kaur (Mona Singh), to solve a gripping murder mystery.
