In a heartbreaking incident in Dwarapudi village, Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh, four children lost their lives after being trapped inside a locked car.
The children had gone out to play on Sunday morning but went missing despite extensive searches by their parents throughout the day. It was later found that the children had entered a car parked near the women’s community office in the village and accidentally locked themselves inside. Due to lack of air circulation, the children suffocated.
The deceased have been identified as Uday (8), son of Mangi Buchibabu and Bhavani; Charumati (8) and Charishma (6), daughters of Burlu Anand and Uma; and Manaswini, daughter of Kandi Suresh and Aruna.
Andhra Pradesh MSME Minister Kondapalli Srinivas expressed his condolences over the tragic loss and explained that the children were playing during a marriage gathering. Of five children playing, four had entered the unlocked car, which then became locked, resulting in suffocation.
The Minister assured that the government would extend support to the bereaved families and urged parents to exercise extra caution and closely monitor their children to prevent such incidents in the future.
Further details on the incident are awaited.
