Actor Manoj Joshi Shares Insights On His Cultural Roots, Acting Journey, And Social Media Influence

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], May 18: Veteran actor Manoj Joshi recently shared his experiences in the film industry, his deep cultural roots, and views on the impact of social media.

Speaking to the media, Joshi said, “My father has been a Kirtankar since I was a child. A Kirtankar must possess knowledge of Gayan, the Vedas, Puranas, the Gita, and the Bhagwat. I have seen the finest Kirtankars of Maharashtra since my childhood, which gave me strong cultural grounding and kept me connected to my roots.”

Discussing his passion for acting, he said, “I was interested in theatre since my school days. I decided I wanted to be an actor when I was in seventh grade. I participated in inter-school, inter-college, and inter-state competitions, then became a professional theatre actor. Eventually, I moved into cinema, though initially actors got only one or two scenes. So, I also worked in television and later explored cinema more deeply.”

Commenting on social media and journalistic responsibility, he said, “You are all journalists, the fourth pillar of democracy. Today is the age of mobile phones, and people don’t have attention spans even for two minutes. Is this convenience really for us, or for them? Sensationalism often leads to writing anything without thought.”

Manoj Joshi has appeared in various popular television series, including Chanakya, Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka, Rau (Marathi), Sangdil, Kabhi Souten Kabhi Saheli, and Mura Raska Mai La (Marathi). His notable film appearances include Hungama, Hulchul, Dhoom, Bhagam Bhag, Chup Chup Ke, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and Billu. He is best known for his role as Kachra Seth in Phir Hera Pheri and portrayed Chanakya in Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat.
