Acharya Pramod Krishnam Alleges Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav Aim To “Turn Bihar into Bengal” Post Congress-RJD Meet

Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh) [India], April 15: Former Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam has made a controversial statement following a high-level Congress-RJD meeting in Delhi, alleging that Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav intend to “turn Bihar into Bengal.”

“Mamata Banerjee wants to turn West Bengal into Bangladesh, and Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav collectively want to turn Bihar into Bengal. The Hindus of Bihar have to take the call whether they want to see it happening,” Krishnam said while speaking to ANI on Tuesday.

The comments come on the heels of a meeting held at the residence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge to finalize the poll strategy and seat-sharing arrangements ahead of the upcoming Bihar Legislative Assembly elections. Attendees included Rahul Gandhi, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal, RJD MPs Manoj Jha, Sanjay Yadav, and other senior leaders.

Congress President Kharge emphasized unity within the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance), stating, “Change is certain in Bihar. We had a constructive discussion with Tejashwi Yadav on strengthening the Mahagathbandhan. In the upcoming elections, we aim to offer a strong, positive, and welfare-oriented alternative to the people of Bihar. The state will be freed from the BJP and its opportunistic alliances.”

Meanwhile, Krishnam also commented on the recent violence in Murshidabad, which erupted during protests against the Waqf Amendment Act. The unrest led to the deaths of three individuals and left many injured, along with significant property damage.

He warned of a growing threat to the Hindu community, stating, “The Hindus of the country are in grave danger, and the Union Home Minister and Prime Minister should give it a thought.”

The Bihar Assembly elections for all 243 seats are scheduled for October–November 2025. The previous elections were held in the same period in 2020.
