In a post on X, PM Modi shared his thoughts, saying, “This is heartening to see! Over the last decade, our Government has worked on strengthening our youth by equipping them with skills that enable them to become self-reliant and create wealth. We have also leveraged the power of technology to make India a hub for innovation and enterprise.”
He further added, “The insights from the QS World Future Skills Index are valuable as we move further on this journey towards prosperity and youth empowerment.”
The inaugural QS World Future Skills Index has highlighted India’s job market as one of the most prepared globally to meet the demands of future skills, particularly in areas like AI, digital technology, and green technologies.
India ranks 25th overall when all indicators in the index are combined and has been recognized as a Future Skills Contender. Notably, India achieved the world’s second-highest score (99.1) in the Future of Work indicator, trailing the United States by less than a point.
India’s resilience in attracting venture capital funding, even amidst global economic challenges, reflects its dynamic and robust investment ecosystem. Additionally, QS analysis underscores India’s readiness to integrate AI into its workforce, distinguishing it from many other nations that are slower in adopting emerging technologies.
Dr. Ashwin Fernandes, Executive Director – Middle East, Africa & South Asia of QS Quacquarelli Symonds, congratulated India on this achievement, stating, “A huge congratulations to the people of India. Today, QS launches the QS World Future Skills Index. It is a momentous occasion for the people of India because India is ranked second in the world for the future of work…We would like to congratulate the PM of India Narendra Modi for his visionary efforts to bring India forward, especially with the skills initiative in India, the National Education Policy 2020. We are finally seeing the outcomes being reflected in these rankings. This goes to show that development in infrastructure and education is playing a major role.
